Lyford Cay Foundation, Inc. and The Canadian Lyford Cay Foundation have proven to be effective vehicles for channeling donations to The Bahamas.

The Foundations accept gifts from individuals, companies, private and family foundations, and charitable organizations which, when combined, allow them to address a broad spectrum of community needs with a lasting impact.

The Foundations undertake annual fundraising campaigns that enable them to support innovative projects and to fund and expand their extensive scholarship and scholarship search programs. The Foundations also solicit donations toward their various scholarship endowment funds, providing donors the vehicle for establishing lasting symbols of their philanthropy.

Convenience
The Foundations handle all of the details. We carefully screen and monitor all scholarship applicants and ensure that the needs of the country are being met. We investigate requests for funding from local organizations, carry out site visits, review reports, and evaluate outcome.  
Professional Management
The Foundations are an inexpensive and professional vehicle for the maximum benefit. Our Scholarship Administrative endowment allows us the unique opportunity of applying all of our scholarship endowment income to our scholarship programs. The Foundations benefit from the expertise of its Board members as well as their generosity toward the day-to-day administration.  
Public Accountability
Annual reporting through independent audits and filing of tax returns, public disclosure of all grant activities and the careful selection of the Boards of Directors assure continued use of all funds in the public interest. See IRS Form 990  
Expertise & Experience
 The Foundations employ a professional and skilled staff as well as benefit from a host of Screening and Advisory Committee volunteers who, in conjunction with Board Committees, help develop programs, make and monitor grants and scholarships, and evaluate the results of gifts.  
Tax Benefit
Contributions to the Foundations qualify for deductibility for income, gift, capital gains and estate tax purposes.
